Leveraging the US Census API
Planning Database
This demo provides US Census demographic data from the 2016 Planning Database, which combines subsets of demographic and economic variables from the decennial census and the 5-year community survey at the tract and blockgroup geographies.
TIGERweb REST Services
Markers placed on the map will be used to query US Census spatial data from the TIGERweb GeoServices. The geography level returned is the Census Blockgroup.
FME Server
Behind the scenes, FME Server runs a workspace that uses logic inside the USCensusCaller to query the Planning Database API and join it with TIGERweb spatial fetaures. FME Server's Data Streaming Service streams the data to the map, and the Data Download Service allows you to download the results.
